Poore Threatens To Shoot Newspaper Delivery People

Putnam County authorities have arrested a man for allegedly threatening to shoot two newspaper delivery people.

Deputies charged 58-year-old Mark Eugene Poore with two counts of aggravated assault.

The incident happened Tuesday as a husband and wife delivered papers in the area of Lancaster Road. Poore allegedly pulled up behind the couple and told them to stay off the road.

An arrest report said the husband produced a knife when Poore exited his vehicle and approached the drivers side door. Poore went back to his truck and threatened to shoot both victims if they called police.

Deputy Gary Davis said Poore eventually produced a rifle and fired a shot in the air before pointing the weapon at the victims. He then went back to drivers side door, pointed the rifle inside the window, and threatened to shoot the couple.

The arresting deputy stated that the defendant left the scene when the victims began calling police.

Poore posted $20,000 bond on Wednesday. He’s scheduled to appear in court October 21.

The victim also faces an aggravated assault charge for producing a knife during the incident. He was arrested and posted $10,000 bond.
