Overton Schools Outline Return Options

Overton County Schools will give parents and students the choice when schools reopen August 7th.

Parents and students will have the option to enroll for in-class instruction or online classes. Students will have two weeks to decide online learning is the best option. After two weeks, the student will learn virtually for the remainder of the semester.

If a student does not have access to Internet, the school will provide students with USB drives with class materials. Online students must turn in a paper and online copy of each assignment.

All staff will be required to wear masks, but students will not. All students and facility will be temperature checked before entering the building. If a child is exposed to Covid-19, the school system ask parents to keep their child at home for 14 days with online instruction provided to the child.

Visitors will not be permitted to enter the school building during instruction hours except for the Kindergarten phase-in day.

Teachers will rotate between classes to keep hallway congestion to a minimum. In each classroom, desks will be separated and supplies will no be shared between students. Students will eat lunch and breakfast in the classroom or outdoors.
