Overton County residents elected Tim Kennedy as the new highway superintendent.
Kennedy finished with 46.27 percent of the vote. David McDonald finished second with 30.64 percent, Darwin Clark took third with 23.05 percent.
In two contested school board races, Melissa Savage defeated Wayne Taylor to take the District Two seat. Savage finished with 52.79 percent of the votes. Ben Danner will return to public service, winning the District Five seat. Danner defeated Jennifer Ledbetter with 58 percent of the final vote tally.
