Overton Back To School Bash Monday

The annual Overton County Back To School Bash will look a little different this year.

Instead of hosting the supplies pickup event at Livingston Academy, families can pick up free materials Monday at the students’ designated school. The event happens Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at each school.

“It will be as a drive thru so they can drive up to the school, receive their materials, receive their Chromebook, and then just exit and go on,” School Director Mark Winningham said.

Winningham said registration packets, backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other materials are also available to each student. He said the event has been a financial help to local parents for some five years.

“We hope it’s been in the past and we hope it is this year especially, and it’ll continue to be after this year as well,” Winningham said.
