A New York man faces charges after he ran away from a crash on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County Thursday.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol charged 35-year-old Brian May with DUI, leaving the scene of a crash, resale of marijuana, reckless driving, and tampering with evidence.
A crash report said May crashed his Chevy Equinox into a concrete culvert base at the 315 westbound mile marker. State troopers apprehended May after he attempted to flee on foot.
The report said that authorities located narcotics inside his vehicle.
