New Health Food Company Good Economic Opportunity In Overton

California-based health food company HealthVerve expanding to Overton County will be a huge benefit region-wide.

That’s according to Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce Director Shannon Cantrell. The company brings over 200 jobs to its location at the old 7-Up bottling facility on North Church Street.

“We have a lot of workforce in Overton County that travel to other areas to work, they end up doing their shopping in other counties as well,” Cantrell said. “So this could be a great opportunity for those who are working in other counties to come back home.”

The company will invest some $2.2 million into the expansion. The Overton County facility will support HealthVerve’s overall production, allowing the company to meet and exceed its growing consumer demands for shelf-stable beverages.

Cantrell said there had been several discussions with the economic development team in Overton County with individuals from the company over the last few months. She said it finally worked out that the company could purchase land and expand its work.

“I mean 200 job is a big deal for us but it’s a big deal for the Upper Cumberland as well,” Cantrell said. “We’re excited to have them expand here in Overton County.”
