Nashville Man Arrested After Cookeville Pursuit

Cookeville Police arrested a Nashville man on several charges following a vehicle pursuit Tuesday evening.

Authorities charged 40-year-old Jquon Jones after he ran a stop sign in his 2007 Toyota Matrix at West End Street and West Broad Street.

A report from the Cookeville Police Department states Jones refused to stop for officers and later struck another vehicle.

Pursuing officers then apprehended Jones after he attempted to flee the scene on foot. Officers also recovered a stolen handgun from the vehicle following Jones’ arrest. A passenger that was with Jones inside his vehicle was later released after police determined that she wasn’t involved in the pursuit.

Jones faces one count each of DUI, reckless endangerment,  evading and resisting arrest, and possessing a handgun by a convicted felon, among others. Jones was later booked into the Putnam County Jail on $16,000 bond where he currently remains.
