A Friday morning crash in Putnam County claimed the life of a Monterey woman.
Authorities identified the deceased driver as 32-year-old Magdalena Sebastian.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 70 South and Hillwood Drive in Monterey.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report states Sebastian lost control of her 2006 Honda Civic while negotiating a curve to the right. The vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole before coming to a final rest at the area of impact.
A passenger, identified as 37-year-old Juan Teresa Pablo Leon, was injured in the crash and received treatment at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
