Monday Night Crash Injures Four In DeKalb County

A single-car crash injured at least four people in DeKalb County Monday night.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports 31-year-old Eric Adcock of Smithville was traveling on Big Rock Road when the accident occurred. 28-year-old Dakota Adcock, of Smithville, and two juveniles were also in the vehicle.

The crash report states Adcock’s 2013 Nissan Juke traveled off the right side of the road while negotiating a left curve. The vehicle then struck several trees before coming to a rest on its left side with all four occupants trapped inside.

Eric Adcock was transported by DeKalb County EMS to St. Thomas Hospital in Smithville, while Dakota Adcock was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. The two juveniles were also transported for medical treatment.

The THP reports neither Eric or Dakota Adcock were wearing their seat belt when the accident occurred. The report also states the juveniles were improperly restrained.

Charges are currently pending against Eric Adcock as alcohol may have played a factor in the accident.
