Molly Brown Using Tourism Experience To Re-Vamp Tour The UC

New Tour the Upper Cumberland Owner Molly Brown said that the most exciting part of her new tourism endeavor is relationship-building.

“Especially in a rural community like the Upper Cumberland,” Brown said. “To be able to showcase mom and pop shops, and these small businesses and these unique things that we have right here in our backyard. And to be able to build those relationships with the people who are behind that, but also to bring guests and make those connections with them so it can create just a huge sense of pride for our region.”

Brown said that the organization is a tour company that serves all 14 counties in the region. She said that the plan is to take guests to all the best locations in the region to showcase its natural beauty and rich history.

Brown said that they plan on hitting state parks, attending events, and working with the visitor’s bureaus across the Upper Cumberland to highlight local restaurants and shops.

“We have two shuttle buses a 12-passenger and a 22-passenger and one of them is also ADA accessible so we’ll be focusing on some tours that offer some ADA accessibility as well,” Brown said. “But it really is to be able to highlight the area in a unique way and to be able to tour people without them having to worry about driving or knowing their way around.”

Brown said that the opportunity to take ownership of the business came about when the previous owner was ready to sell. She said she thinks that her experience in tourism can continue moving the business forward.
