McMinnville Water One of 11 That Competed For Best Tasting Water

McMinnville Utility recently competed in the statewide competition for the best tasting water.

The city water provider won the region four competition to have a chance at the state level. Water Treatment Plant Manager Ricky Morton said while they did not win, it was a great way to show off the department’s work.

“They even recognized each one of us individually and came up on the screen,” Morton said. “That’s a big thing. It is a big honor to know that serving your community, doing things that you can do, being a part of that community and being proud of what you are doing.”

Morton said this was the second time in six years McMinnville competed at the state level. Morton said water samples were judged on taste, smell and clarity.

Morton said he does not know how the department ranked in the competition since only first place was announced. Linden Utilities was the winner out of 11 other districts.
