McMinnville Seeking Community Input Through Survey For Strategic Plan

City of McMinnville seeking public input from a community survey to help inform the city’s strategic plan.

City Administrator Nolan Ming said the strategic plan helps guide the city as it forward in the next several years. He said they want to have to community’s input to help city leaders inform what areas need to be focused on.

“We want to understand what the public is thinking so we’re actively seeking input from all of our stakeholders, meaning the entire community,” Ming said. “To guide us as we move through the strategic planning process.”

Ming said the survey asks about what projects the city should invest in. He said this includes topics like infrastructure, parks opportunities, and more.

Ming said he believes the information from the community survey will have great weight regarding the city’s future plans. He said they designed the survey to have “high-level” questions that do not lead the respondent.

“It’s not often that we put out a survey and it’s not often that we can get input from everyone,” Ming said. “So I feel like the survey itself and the focus groups that we plan to have will hold a lot of weight when it comes to the decisions made through the strategic planning process.”

Ming said citizens can find the survey online on the city’s website and social media and find hard copies at several city buildings. He said they are asking the community to respond by mid-March.
