Man Shoots Wife In DeKalb County

DeKalb County authorities have arrested a man who allegedly shot his wife Wednesday and led police on a pursuit with a child inside the vehicle.

51-year-old Ronald Jeffery Patterson is facing three counts of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, and evading arrest.

According to authorities, the incident began when Patterson and his wife got into an argument while driving. At one point Patterson stopped near their home and fired two shots from a .22 caliber handgun, striking his wife in the hand and hip.

Following the shooting Patterson led authorities on a pursuit with a 6-year-old child inside the car.

He was eventually arrested and taken to jail. He’s under an $85,000 bond.

Patterson’s wife received treatment at a Murfreesboro hospital.
