Man Arrested For DUI After Striking Police Vehicle

The Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested a Cookeville man Thursday after he crashed his vehicle into an Algood Police cruiser.

State Troopers charged Alaryani Abdulrahman with DUI after responding to Burton Branch Road at Dry Valley Road.

An arrest report said the responding trooper observed that the defendant was very unsteady on his feet and had an odor associated with an alcoholic beverage. Abdulrahman allegedly admitted to drinking 4 beers prior to driving.

The report said troopers arrested the man after he failed to successfully complete field sobriety tasks.
