Livingston-Overton Chamber Hosting Chamber 101 Series

Livingston-Overton Chamber of Commerce will start a series to help new and existing members better understand the scope of their benefits.

Director Shannon Cantrell said that it’s important for the chamber to have good relationships with its local businesses to help the community thrive.

“When I see our local businesses succeed, and I see tourism increasing and people from all over the country moving here, those are the things that are important,” Cantrell said. “And those are the things we need to always continue to be improving on, and as a member of the chamber, you are a part of all of that.”

Cantrell said that she feels like many businesses are part of the chamber because they feel like they have to. She said that because the chamber has grown so rapidly in recent years, this series will give her the opportunity to explain exactly what that chamber does.

Cantrell said that Chamber 101 will go over things like initiatives, events, and partnerships that businesses can take advantage of.

“Between the city and the county and my board and other organizations that are affiliated with the chamber, there is a wealth of knowledge, a wealth of leadership opportunities,” Cantrell said. “Livingston truly has a great team, and as a chamber member, you’re a part of that team. And we’re all going to do everything we can to make sure our new businesses and our existing businesses continue to thrive.”

The first session will be held at the Chamber on April 19th, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
