Lake Tansi Shooting Case Heading to Grand Jury

A Cumberland County grand jury will meet next week  to consider indicting a Clarkrange couple charged with murdering a Lake Tansi woman.

35-year-old Doneal Clark and 35-year-old Kirk Clark face one count of first degree murder in the January 19th shooting death of Linda Damewood. Both Doneal and Kirk also face charges for felonious possession of a weapon.

Both Clarks appeared in Cumberland County General Sessions Court Feb. 14. Investigators testified that 73-year-old Ellen Cairns and 63-year-old Andrew Schan were found inside the residence with gunshot wounds.

Kirk Clark had told investigators prior to the hearing that Doneal shot Damewood over not having access to prescription opioids.

The investigation also found that the Clarks had stolen a purse and safe inside Damewood’s residence following the shooting.

Polce arrested the couple last month during a traffic stop on Interstate Drive in Crossville.

The grand jury will meet next Monday, Feb. 25.
