Jackson UT Extension Office Welcomes New Director

The Jackson County UT Extension Office has welcomed a new member to its team.

New Director Dill Hughes said that after working in agriculture across the state, he’s ready to bring his knowledge to the community of Jackson County.

“I like to talk about ag processes,” Hughes said. “And how everything that we have comes out of the earth and we need to be good stewards of that resource and if I can be a small part of helping people understand that and how important that is to us, well that gives you a great deal of enjoyment.”

Hughes said that he’s spent time in Henry and Maury counties over his 25-year career. He said that he decided to move to Jackson County to be closer to family.

Hughes said that he looks forward to sharing all of the programs UT Extension Offices have to offer with Jackson County.

“I’m looking forward to being implanted here and getting to know the producers here,” Hughes said. “I’ve only been here about two and a half months. I’ve met some really good folks and UT Extension has lots of programs that are available and lots of information that are available. I’m not an expert in all areas, but I enjoy helping people and I enjoy seeing people learn, so if we can ever be of service please give us a call.”
