The second I Heart Tech Students Fundraising Campaign garnered some $418,000 for students in need.
“We, in the Crawford Alumni Center, were pleasantly surprised at the outpouring of support and are grateful for all of those generous donors who chose to support Tech students during these unexpected and unprecedented times,” Tech Director of University Advancement Brandon Boyd said.
The times included the cancellation of the campus Day of Giving because of the COVID-19 outbreak and the March 3 tornado.
Money from the fundraiser supports students facing financial hardships. Programs such as the Accessible Education Center, the Counseling Center, the Eagle Assistance Grant, the Food Pantry, and the Veterans Center benefit from the program.
“These programs and these gifts are so important in regards to retention,” Boyd said.
