Harville Receives Sentence For Fatal 2017 Crash

A Monterey man has received a 10 year jail sentence for his involvement in a fatal 2017 crash.

An Overton County jury convicted Shannon C. Harville in November on charges of vehicular homicide by intoxication, vehicular homicide by recklessness, and two counts of vehicular assault.

Authorities said Harville was traveling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle collided head-on with a Nissan Maxima, driven by 27-year-old Shannon Cook.

The crash on Hanging Limb Highway claimed the life of Cook and seriously injured two of her passengers.

Prosecutors said a blood sample from Harville tested positive for a high level of methamphetamine.
