German-Based Company To Locate In White County

Upper Cumberland officials have announced that German manufacturer Hormann Group will be locating  in White County.

The company manufactures doors, garages, door frames, and gates.

According to officials, Hormann will invest nearly $64 million to establish a manufacturing facility in Sparta. The company plans to create approximately 200 jobs.

White County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson:

“Oh this is exciting, this is a great thing for White County, well a great thing for White County, the whole Upper Cumberland, I mean, and Tennessee actually, as evident by the governor being here,” Robinson said.

Hormann North America President Camron Rudd said Tennessee moved to the forefront of sites early on and White County was the perfect site.

“What was not a challenge was working with the people representing the state of Tennessee, TVA, White County and all of the other partners here in the Upper Cumberland. From the first time we made a visit to this area, to our arrival this morning, we have been welcomed and they’ve wanted this project from day 1,” Rudd said.

Construction on the 350,000 square foot facility expected to begin by early 2018 and it would be operational by the middle of 2019.
