Four Putnam Precincts To Use iPads In May Primary

Putnam County Election Administrator Debbie Steidl said the election commission has bought four iPads to help speed up the check-in process at polls.

“Sometimes things aren’t done quite as correct as they should have been, I believe the iPads will correct that and make going in to vote on election day that much faster,” Steidl said.

They’ll be used to help check voters in at four polling places for the May 2018 election. Steidl said if it works as well as she thinks it will, more iPads may be coming to precincts.

“Potentially, I know my election commission is thinking that, but of course we’d have to find the money too,” Steidl said.

Three elections are planned for next year. The May primary will narrow the field for certain local and state races. An August election will complete those races and hold primaries for certain state and federal races. The November election will complete those campaigns.
