Fire Hall Expansion Project Nearly Complete

A project to expand the Algood Fire Hall is nearing completion.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said construction crews are putting some final touches on the new building.

“They are putting ceiling tile in, painting counters, and trying to polish up the floors,” Morrison said. “We are working towards getting a punch list so we can get a move in date.”

The project adds three double bays along with new training space. EMS will also have the ability to run a 24-hour ambulance service out of the facility.

Morrison said the city will eventually schedule a time for the public to tour the new facility.

“Once we get moved in and get things settled down we will clean everything up and have a grand opening,” Morrison said.

The $600,000 project began in April, 2018. Construction was scheduled to be completed in December but weather delayed the project.
