Fire Destroys Mobile Home In Cookeville

A fire destroyed a mobile home on Lee Seminary Road in Cookeville Wednesday morning.

The Cookeville Fire Department responded to the scene and found the structure heavily involved.

“It was an unoccupied dwelling, so we are not really sure what happened at this point in time,” Safety and Training Captain Daniel Snyder said. “It appears to be accidental in nature, but it’s hard to determine currently.”

Snyder said the fire completely gutted the inside of the trailer.

“It’s a good day for us,” Snyder said. “It was a quick knockdown, no injuries, and everybody gets to go home. That’s what we like to have.”

Snyder said the Putnam County Fire Department provided mutual aid with a tanker truck and two crew members.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
