The Fentress County Commission has voted to apply for a grant to help better assist victims of crime.
County Executive Jimmy Johnson said the money would hire another worker for the local District Attorneys Office.
“It will be great because right now we have one person working with the victims of crimes here in Fentress County,” Johnson said. “It will help reduce part of the workload, which will give the person doing now more time to spend with the victims.”
Johnson said the federal grant will not cost the county any money.
