Fentanyl Awareness Campaign for Teens

Tennessee is launching a new social media campaign to raise teen awareness about the dangers of fentanyl.

This awareness effort is called Fentanyl: The Deadliest High.

District Attorney’s in Tennessee held focus groups with middle and high schoolers to see if they knew just how fatal fentanyl can be. This effort comes as fentanyl related over doses increase at a rapid rate.

Fentanyl is often sold and disguised as other drugs, and a lethal dose can weigh as much as four grains of sand. District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway is focusing in on an awareness campaign for the United States most prevalent synthetic drug.

“Fentanyl is a deadly drug that is causing death in our communities. It is deadly in such small amounts and is often found mixed with other drugs.” District Attorney Dunaway said.

The campaign is directed at 13-18 year-old Tennesseans.
