Election Day Across The Upper Cumberland

It’s Election Day across the Upper Cumberland, with most polls opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m.

Cookeville voters will be paying close attention to the City Council race, with 11 candidates vying for 5 seats. The top vote-getter will be the Mayor-Elect.

Van Buren County voters will see new leadership in its County Mayor. Incumbent Greg Wilson decided not to run for re-election, leaving his seat open.

Voters will decide on the next County Executive in Overton County. Incumbent Ben Danner will face just one challenger in Steven Barlow.

Putnam County’s Districts 11 and 12 could see new faces, with four candidates running in each district for just two spots.

In Jackson County, the School Board is facing a turnover. Three of the Board’s six seats are up for election, with all seats guaranteed to a new member.

White County Commission also facing a turnover, after several incumbents saw upsets in the primaries.
