Ducth Craft Sleep Products Expansion Bringing 20 New Jobs To Clay

Dutch Craft Sleep Products in Celina plans to expand its operations, creating 20 additional jobs.

The UCDD Executive Committee approved a $250,000 loan for the expansion Wednesday. Loan Officer Jesse Villard said the money would go to the Joint Industrial Development Board of Celina and Clay County.

“Dutch Craft Sleep Products, which is founded and owned by Eli Schmucker has approached the IDB for them to purchase the building and for the IDB to lease it to Eli.”

The 7,500 square foot facility being purchased sits on two acres at West Lake Avenue. The owner plans to put $100,000 into the building for renovations after the purchase, according to Villard.

“Our loan will come through the EDA traditional revolving loan fund,” Reagan said. “(…) Collateral, we are going to be holding the land and building as a first position.”

The loan has a fixed rate of five percent over 20 years. Clay County Mayor Dale Reagan said he supports the business expanding.

“Eli has a very reputable compoany that has been there for several years,” VIllard said. “He is pretty much committed if he get the staff. He is wanting to look at the possibility of increasing 20 more employees. I support whole heartedly, because anytime we can get more employees.”

Celina Mayor Luke Collins also supported the expansion. The company also operates in Overton and Jackson Counties.
