A Cumberland County group plans a ceremony to celebrate emergency services and law enforcement at the fair this week.
The Leadership Cumberland class of 2016 came up with the idea several months ago.
Jeremy Shoemaker is a member of the group.
“We realized that there were a ton of people that you don’t think about that spend their day to day lives making ours better and we really wanted to reach out to those people,” Shoemaker said.
The group decided a ceremony was the way to go and the Cumberland County Fair provided the perfect venue.
At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the group will hold a “Not All Heroes Wear Capes” ceremony on the main stage at the fair.
Shoemaker said the class hopes to continue the tradition for years to come.
