Crossville Council Discusses Extending City Manager Contract

Crossville City Council discussed extending City Manager Greg Wood’s contract during Monday’s work session.

The contract, if passed, will keep Wood as the Crossville city manager through March 2020.

“He’s done a good job,” Councilwoman Pamala Harris said. “He came in at a difficult time to serve on the council the first couple years I served. I feel like he’s done a good job in helping us to come back from some of those difficulties.”

Harris said keeping Wood as the city manager an extra year will be beneficial to Crossville.

“I just feel like it would show some consistency and continuity going forward and we need that,” Harris said.

Council will need to vote on the extension during next week’s meeting on July 10 before it’s approved.

Crossville has seen an increase in sales tax revenue since Wood was first appointed Crossville City Manager by Council.
