Crossville To Consider Wage Study For City Employees

Crossville City Council members will consider hiring a company to conduct a wage study.

City Manager Greg Woods said the city has experienced issues with employees leaving for better paying jobs.

“We haven’t had a wage study in at least 20 years, according to corporate history and memory,” Woods said. “A wage survey looks at the actual job they are doing, it looks to see if people are in the appropriate classification, and what the wage should be. It’s much more thorough than just doing a salary survey.”

If approved by the city council next week, the wage study would take about six weeks to complete and cost between $15,000 and $20,000.

The city council will vote on the wage study recommendation Tuesday, October 9th at 6:00 p.m.
