Crop Reports Due Monday

Farmers have a few extra days to file their crop reports.

The deadline is usually July 15, since that falls on a weekend, the deadline is now Monday, July 17.

Farm Service Agent Chad Huddleston said they’re required for people who have crop insurance.

“For people that don’t have crop insurance, if we have any programs in the future that could help them, if they have a crop report they won’t have to go back and bring in receipts and such to prove that they did have a crop. If they certify the crop up front, then that’ll help them for the future,” Huddleston said.

Several programs were offered over the winter to help farmers during the drought. All applicants had to have a completed crop report.

To complete the report, visit your local Farm Service Agency office. Completing the form is free until Monday, July 17.
