A single vehicle crash in Van Buren County claimed the life of a 19-year-old female early Thursday morning.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Abigail Pack of Sparta died in the crash that happened on Turkey Scratch Road around 12:28 a.m.
According to a THP crash report, Pack was a passenger in a northbound 2001 Chevy Silverado driven by 18-year-old James Savage of Quebeck. The report stated that Savage lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.
Another passenger inside the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Dustin A. McCurry, was charged with leaving the scene of the accident .
Savage and McCurry did not suffer any injuries.
The THP said pack was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
