Cookeville’s Goodwill Career Solutions is hosting a job fair Tuesday with over 50 openings available.
Certifications and Learning Management Coordinator Jim Barry said job fairs are now available every week.
“We have been doing it over the years on a monthly basis,” Barry said. “Every week we want to try to have new employers come out, so if there are employers out there that have recruiting needs they just need to know that the more we can get together, typically the more diverse population will come in seeking work.”
Four employers will be at the job fair, including Home Instead, Excel Temporary Services, Pacesetters, and Goodwill. Positions include welders, caregivers, direct support professionals, and retail associates with a base pay up to $12 an hour.
Barry suggested for anyone interested to bring a photo I.D., resume, and dress professionally.
“Even if an individual doesn’t find an employer at the job fair, we can get them connected to other job placements,” Barry said. “So if one of those opportunities doesn’t work out for them, we’d be more than happy to show them other job leads that we have in connection [with] because we’re always getting new job leads in almost on a daily basis.”
Job Fairs are every Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cookeville Goodwill Career Solutions center.
