Cookeville Woman Charge With TennCare Fraud

A Putnam County woman faces TennCare drug charges.

Thirty one-year-old Kimberly Ann Smith, of Cookeville, is accused of selling Oxycodone prescribed to her at a doctor’s appointment paid for by TennCare.

TennCare fraud is now a Class D felony punishable by up to four years in prison per charge.

The case was investigated by the state Office of the Inspector General and the Baxter Police. District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway is prosecuting the case.
