Cookeville To Host Predators Viewing Party Thursday, Sunday

Cookeville will host its own viewing party for the Predators Thursday and Sunday.

Mayor Ricky Shelton said the fun begins at Dogwood Park at 7 p.m. both nights.

“Well there’s a tremendous amount of excitement in our community and all over Tennessee really in the Predators and we wanted to do something like this. We were trying to pick the right time and it seems like it is, I know the viewing parties in Nashville have been tremendous attendance,” Shelton said.

The concession stand will be open and some other food options will be available, too, Shelton said.

Dogwood Park’s projection screen may be difficult to see until it gets fully dark, but that won’t get in the way of the fun, Shelton said.

“The audio will be working but it may be the beginning of the second period when it’s actually dark enough to see the screen, unfortunately. But we know that won’t hinder people’s fun and excitement of coming out and enjoying their friends and cheering collectively for the Predators,” Shelton said.

The Predators and the Pittsburgh Penguins are tied 2-2 in the Stanley Cup tournament finals.

The Predators viewing party is free and open to the public.
