Cookeville Replacing Public Works Vehicles

Cookeville Public Works will replace two vehicles, a new brush truck and roll-off truck.

Public Works Director Greg Brown said these vehicles will help with roadside cleanup and construction.

“The brush truck is a knuckle boom truck that picks up brush from the side of the road so we’ll be replacing one of the older trucks that we have, the roll off truck picks up the large construction dumpsters and the garbage compactors that we have on the route,” Brown said.

The brush truck will cost over $152,000 and the roll off truck will cost over $178,000. Both are budgeted items. Brown said the two vehicles being replaced have been in service for quite some time in Cookeville.

“Well they’re replacing 1995 trucks, so its been a pretty good while,” Brown said.
