CCHS Searching For New Football Coach

Cumberland County High School football coach Ken Johnson has resigned from his head coaching position.

According to a press release, Johnson will remain at CCHS as a teacher for the remainder of the school year.

The Jets won a total of seven games during Johnson’s four seasons as head coach and they reached the playoffs only one time.

“The administration at Cumberland County High School would like to thank Coach Johnson for his leadership and time spent with football the past few years,” the press release states. “We wish him and his family the best of luck in the future.”

Cumberland County High School will be taking applications for the vacancy in the near future. The person selected for the job will be tasked with improving a program that has reached post season play only five times in school history.

Officials said there is no time line for hiring a head coach at this time.
