Cumberland County Commissioners approved Sandy Gilbert as the county’s new property assessor Monday night. Gilbert replaces Lori Lowe Powell who passed away this spring. Two hikers rescued at Fall Creek Falls Monday after water began rising in Cane Creek Gorge. Heavy rainfall trapped the two after they began hiking Monday morning.
