Jackson County officials have confirmed that a woman found dead at Cummins Falls yesterday was assisting with the search for a missing 73-year-old woman. 10 Count Indictment Handed Down To Cumberland Co. Man

A Cumberland County Grand Jury has handed down a 10 count indictment to a local man alleging kidnapping an assault. Clifford James Farris is charged with three counts of aggravated kidnapping and three counts of aggravated assault. Six Cent Property Tax Increase Proposed In Cumberland Co.

Cumberland County property owners could be facing a tax increase. The County Budget Committee recommended a 6-cent tax increase as they unanimously approved the upcoming fiscal year budget last night. Body Found At Cummins Falls Identified, 73-Year-Old Still Missing

Authorities have identified a body found at Cummins Falls State Park Thursday morning. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the woman as 45-year-old Lisa Michelle Hillian of Sales Creek Tennessee. Search crews located Hillian’s body around 9:00 a.m. as they were looking for 73-year-old Peggy McDaniel. Cumberland County may have to purchase a portion of property where the Crossville Arts Circle Library is at. Another vehicle has struck Smithville’s Veterans Memorial Bridge on College Street. Yesterday a truck carrying cars struck the underside of the bridge.
