Putnam County’s 175th anniversary celebration will end this weekend. Putnam County Executive Randy Porter said the official celebration began back in February and it’ll all end with a ceremony on July 4. Fentress Officers Arrest Fugitives

The Fentress County Sheriff’s Department and Jamestown Police arrested a fugitive Thursday. Jackie Foster, 30, of Deer Lodge, Tenn., was found in the attic of a home on Clark Street in Jamestown. The Putnam County Board of Education approved a third draft of its budget Thursday. That budget still has a $3.89 million hole. Bockman Way Sidewalk Project To Begin

Construction on Sparta’s Bockman Way will begin July 10. Sparta City Administrator Chris Dorsey said the project will improve sidewalks, storm drains, curbs and gutters along Bockman Way. A Sparta road project is out for bids. Sparta officials want to pave Roosevelt Drive. Kentucky Man Charged With 4th DUI In Putnam Co.

An Albany, Ky., man is facing his 4th DUI offense after a tractor trailer crash in Putnam County this week. Authorities have identified the man as 38-year-old Joseph King.
