Fire Damages Monterey Home

A Tuesday night fire caused damage to a home in Monterey. Multiple fire crews responded to 205 Tayes Avenue at 11:20 p.m. Monterey Fire Department Chief Kevin Peters said the lone occupant of the home managed to escape without injuries. A Dallas County Texas parolee landed behind bars in Putnam County Tuesday. Putnam County sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Whitaker at a home in Baxter. Byrdstown Man Sentenced In Exploitation Case

A Byrdstown man has pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. Judge Gary McKenzie sentenced 36-year-old Oscar Gonzalez Garcia to serve five-years in prison. Authorities arrested Garcia earlier this year after locating numerous videos and photos of children conducting sexual activity and simulated sexual activity.
