Two Injured In Highway 111 Wreck

Two Overton County residents injured Thursday afternoon in a two-car wreck along Highway 111. A vehicle driven by 77-year-old Sidney Sullivan of Cookeville was attempting to turn left from Paran Road onto Highway 111 south. 30-year-old Andrew Scott of Rickman was traveling northbound. Coons Approved As New Cookeville Clerk

Cookeville City Council approved the appointment of Darian Coons as the new city clerk Thursday night. Coons replaces Cathy McClain who retired at the end of June. Increased Water Patrols This Weekend For The Fourth

A multiple-car accident on Highway 111 in Overton County this afternoon has closed one lane of eastbound traffic. The crash near E. Animal Groups Call for Action on Cockfighting

Two animal wellness groups have asked U.S. Attorneys to investigate nine Tennesseans for involvement in cockfighting. The nine includes a McMinnville man. Animal Wellness Action accuses Danny Mullins of McMinnville of shipping fighting birds illegally.
