Baxter Sets Fees to Use Amphitheater

Baxter has set a fee schedule for use of its new amphitheater.

Renting the amphitheater will cost $200 for the first four hours, and $50 for each additional hour. Baxter Mayor John Martin said the amphitheater is equipped to handle concerts, which is part of the city’s plan.

“The biggest part on concerts is the power that we use, of course we’ve got big box in the back that can provide any type of power for the large amps,” Martin said. “We wanted to make sure when we did the amphitheater, we would do that because we’re gonna be having some large concerts next year.”

Martin said that there will be a $75 dollar fee to use electricity at the amphitheater, and an additional $50 per hour that electricity is used. Martin said there will probably be no fee exceptions.

“There will be probably fees for everyone, when you start making exceptions it just brings on more problems,” Martin said. “They can bring it up before the board, they might be willing for exceptions but at this time we don’t see any.”

Those interested in renting the amphitheater will need to fill out an application at Baxter City Hall.

Martin said Baxter is preparing to lay topsoil and reseed the park. Martin said he does not expect anything to take place at the amphitheater until the Spring of 2021.
