Smithville Bridge Takes Third Hit

Another vehicle has crashed into Smithville’s Veterans Memorial Bridge. Saturday afternoon, 45-year-old Jody Martin of Decherd, Tenn., tried to drive a tractor trailer under the bridge but struck the bottom. Cookeville Traffic Stop Nets Marijuana, Cash

THP troopers found more than 5 pounds of marijuana during a Cookeville traffic stop last week. A written statement from the THP said Trooper Mike Loftis noticed an odor of marijuana when he approached the vehicle. Crossville Man Recovers Monkey In Knoxville

A Crossville man recovered his pet monkey in Knoxville over the weekend. Bill King visited Knoxville a week ago and took his Capuchin monkey, named Pretty Boy Floyd with him. Public’s Help Sought To Identify Suspect

Cookeville Police hope the public can help find a suspect. Police released two security-camera images of a man they believe committed a theft at a city gas station. Goodlettsville Man Arrested In White County After Search

A multi-county manhunt ended in White County Thursday evening. White County Sheriff’s Det. Chris Isom said Goodlettsville Police contacted the department to locate Sterling Carter, 51. Carter is accused of raping an 11 year old girl Sunday at a church in Goodlettsville. TDOT Begins Microsurfacing In Cumberland Co.

Some temporary traffic signals will soon go up on U.S. 70 at the Crossville city limits.
