Indictment Handed Down To Man Who Fatally Stabbed Police K-9

A Cumberland County grand jury handed down indictments Monday to a man who fatally stabbed a Crossville Police K-9 back in August. The indictments charge 28-year-old Dustin Lee Dixon with intentionally killing a service animal, theft over $10,000, aggravated assault and DUI. Police said Dixon fled during a traffic stop and fatally stabbed the K-9 officer during a foot pursuit. Read More »

Indictment Charges Cumberland Co. Woman With DUI

A Cumberland County grand jury has handed down an indictment charging a local woman with vehicular homicide. The indictment handed down Monday also charges 36-year-old Meghan Elizabeth Wilson with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Grundy County Forfeits Tonight’s Game Against Upperman

Grundy County High School has forfeited tonight’s football game against the Upperman Bees. The move comes after authorities charged five football players for allegedly trying to rape a 15-year-old boy inside the school’s field house on Wednesday. Fire Reported At Lake Tansi Home

Cumberland County firefighters responded to a house fire at a Lake Tansi residence this morning. Officials said the blaze broke out at a home on Uno Lane. Officials said the homeowners were out of town when neighbors spotted smoke coming from the structure. Crossville To Sell Water To West Cumberland Utility District

The Crossville City Council has granted approval to sale water to the West Cumberland Utility District. The city will be selling water to the utility at the current wholesale rate of $3.88 per 1,000 gallons. The search for a missing woman in Cumberland County continues today. County authorities said 31-year-old Shanin Leedora Mehle went missing Tuesday after leaving a residence around 2:00 p.m. Around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday authorities located Mehle’s vehicle abandoned in front of a driveway on Millstone Mountain.Her cell phone and other personal property were found inside the vehicle.
