Absences Due to Flooding Will Be Excused

Because of flooding across Cumberland County Tuesday, several county students were unable to get to their schools. Director of Schools Janet Graham said Tuesday night that those absences would be excused. Monterey Gives Approval To Town’s First Liquor Store

A liquor store is one step closer to locating in Monterey. The town’s Alcoholic Beverage Commission granted a certificate of compliance to Sherry L. Flooding Forces Schools To Close In DeKalb County

A round of overnight rain caused flooding issues in DeKalb County this morning. Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad members had to evacuate several homes in the Liberty and Dowelltown areas that flooded from surrounding creeks and streams.
