Fallen Trees In Brooks Bend Area Of Jackson County, Roads Closed

Jackson County experienced some minor damages from this morning’s storm. That is according to EMA Spokesperson Derek Woolbright. Woolbright said there are downed trees in the Brooks Bend area. Putnam Landfill Expansion Could Extend Use 8-9 Years

The 45-day public comment period for the Putnam County Demolition Landfill expansion in Baxter ended Monday. Solid Waste Director Doug Ashburn said this is a standard expansion providing 15 or more acres to the location. Seven people arrested in Fentress County in a drug bust where officers found 30 grams of methamphetamine, cannabis and a stolen .40 caliber pistol.
