Algood Fills Remaining City Council Vacancies

After nearly a year, the city of Algood officially has a full five member city council.

Tuesday night the three member council selected Justin Grant to serve as council member until September of 2018. Grant, a pastor at Church on the Hill in Algood, has lived in the city since the age of 7 and said he wanted to help Algood in any way he could.

“I’ve been a pastor for six years and I understand what it’s like to have a vision and a passion for a group of people and to see a need,” Grant said.

The council also selected Luke Hill to serve on the council until 2020. Hill moved to Algood 18 months ago from Memphis. He currently serves as Chief Legal Council for CRMC and has served on several board and commissions at the local and county level in Shelby County.

The council also appointed Councilwoman Carolyn Norris to serve as Vice Mayor.
