Algood Approves New Agreement For Planning Services

The City of Algood will utilize the Upper Cumberland Development District for planning services.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said the Algood previously utilized the Putnam County Regional Planning Commission and Director Kevin Rush.

“It’s pretty much going to be the same thing. They oversee the planning and Board of Zoning Appeals, and Kevin kept up with all the zoning changes, regulations, and requests,” Morrison said. “This will just shift who that service is going through.”

Morrison said the new plan with the UCDD will save the city nearly $12,000 a year. The City of Baxter also utilizes the UCDD for planning services.

The Algood City Council approved the new agreement during Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
