Crossville Grant Coming For Meadow Park

The City of Crossville received a $392,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to build a trailhead facility at Meadow Park Lake.

The trailhead facility will be located where Soldier’s Beach Trail and North Trail begin. The facility will include an ADA-compliant restroom, bike racks, an information kiosk, water fountains, and a dog watering station. Crossville City Manager Valerie Hale said the park needed improvements as it currently lacks a restroom.

“We want to feature Meadow Park Lake,” Hale said. “It is a hidden gem of Cumberland County and we are very proud of that facility so we want to make it more accessible to everyone. I think it’s only going to generate more traffic at Meadow Park Lake. More people will be able to come and visit the park and see what is exactly going on in our beautiful area.”

Hale said the park will also be more handicap accessible by constructing an ADA-compliant parking lot and crosswalk. Hale said the expected date for the project to begin will be sometime in the spring.

“I’m actually very excited that we have received this grant,” Hale said. “We are going to be able to encourage individuals of all abilities to explore the natural beauty of Meadow Park Lake.”

Hale said the projects will take roughly a year to complete.
